LucusAI Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mohanlal S, operating LucusAI ("LucusAI", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use LucusAI.

LucusAI is operated from Tamil Nadu, India and is initially available to users internationally.

1. Information We Collect

A. Google Sign-In Information

When you create an account using Google Sign-In, we receive information made available through Google's authentication service, which may include information such as:

your name;
email address;
Google account identifier; and
authentication-related information necessary to establish and maintain your LucusAI account.

You cannot currently change your Google-linked name or email address through the LucusAI interface.

B. Subscription Information

When you purchase a LucusAI subscription, Razorpay processes the payment.

We may receive and store:

Razorpay customer ID;
payment ID;
subscription ID;
transaction amount;
payment status; and
information necessary to determine whether your LucusAI subscription is active.

We do not store your full card number or complete card-payment credentials.

We do not collect your phone number through LucusAI.

We do not intentionally collect your physical address, date of birth, gender, or demographic profile information.

C. Characters and Conversations

We store information you provide when using LucusAI, including:

character names;
character personalities and instructions;
character configurations;
character avatar information;
messages you send to AI characters; and
AI-generated responses associated with your conversations.

This information is stored so that LucusAI can provide conversation history and the character experience.

D. Information You Voluntarily Provide

You may voluntarily place personal information into character descriptions or conversations.

Please do not submit passwords, payment credentials, government identification numbers, highly sensitive personal information, or confidential information into LucusAI.

If you choose to provide such information, it may be processed by LucusAI and the third-party AI services required to generate responses.

E. Support Communications

If you contact us by email, we may receive and retain the information you provide in your communication, including your email address and the contents of your message.

2. Information We Do Not Currently Collect for Tracking or Advertising

LucusAI does not currently operate third-party advertising or analytics programs.

We do not sell personal information.

We do not intentionally collect IP addresses or device/browser information for user profiling.

We do not use personal information to create advertising profiles.

Where cookies or similar technologies are technically required by authentication or third-party services, they may operate as necessary for those services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

create and maintain your LucusAI account;
authenticate you through Google;
provide AI character conversations;
store and display your characters and conversation history;
process and manage subscriptions;
determine whether your subscription is active;
respond to support requests;
prevent abuse and misuse;
operate and secure the Service;
comply with applicable law; and
enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not currently use your conversations or character data to train or fine-tune our own AI models.

4. AI Processing and Google Gemini

LucusAI currently uses Google's Gemini API to generate AI character responses and perform automated safety processing.

When you send a message, information necessary to generate the response may be sent to Google. This can include:

your message;
relevant previous conversation history;
the character's name;
the character's personality or system instructions; and
other context necessary to generate the response.

We do not intentionally send your LucusAI email address, Google account identifier, or other account-identifying information to Gemini as part of the normal AI prompt.

However, information you voluntarily place inside a character definition or conversation may itself contain personal information. That information can therefore be included in material sent to the AI service.

Google's current Gemini API terms state that paid Gemini API services do not use prompts and responses to improve Google's products, although Google may retain limited data for abuse monitoring and related purposes.

Google also states that authorized personnel may assess content flagged by safety and abuse-detection systems for policy enforcement.

You should therefore avoid putting sensitive or confidential information into LucusAI conversations.

5. Automated Safety Processing

LucusAI uses automated safety checks on user messages.

If a message is identified as violating LucusAI's safety requirements, the message may be blocked and the Service may return a general refusal.

Blocked messages are not intentionally retained in LucusAI's database for moderation purposes.

The AI provider may nevertheless process prompts and outputs under its own applicable policies, including limited abuse-monitoring processes described in its terms.

6. How Long We Keep Information

Account information

Your account information and subscription information remain in our database until your account is deleted, subject to information that we may be required or permitted to retain by law.

Characters and conversations

Characters and conversations remain stored until you delete them or your account is deleted, subject to necessary legal, security, or dispute-related retention.

Subscription information

Subscription information remains stored until account deletion, subject to legal or financial recordkeeping requirements.

Deleted information

When you delete a character or conversation, we permanently delete it from our active database.

LucusAI currently does not maintain backups of deleted characters or conversations.

7. Account Deletion

You may request complete deletion of your LucusAI account by emailing:

Upon completion of an account-deletion request, we intend to delete the account and associated personal information, characters, conversations, and subscription information, except information that we are legally required to retain or reasonably need to retain for legal claims, fraud prevention, security, accounting, or compliance.

8. Third-Party Service Providers

LucusAI relies on third-party providers to operate the Service.

These currently include:

Google — Google Sign-In and Gemini API.

Razorpay — payment processing and subscription management.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting and infrastructure.

MongoDB — database infrastructure.

These providers may process information on our behalf or as independent service providers under their respective terms and privacy policies.

Because LucusAI is available internationally, information may be processed or stored in countries other than the country where you live.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information used by the Service.

However, no internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for avoiding submission of passwords, payment credentials, government identification information, and other sensitive information into LucusAI.

10. Children's Privacy

LucusAI is intended only for users 18 years of age or older.

We do not knowingly provide LucusAI to persons under 18.

We will take appropriate steps to investigate and, where appropriate, delete the account and associated information.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law and your location, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to:

request access to personal information we hold about you;
request correction of inaccurate information;
request deletion of your information;
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
raise a complaint regarding our handling of personal information; and
exercise other rights provided by applicable privacy law.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

Some information may need to be retained where required by law or reasonably necessary for legal claims, security, fraud prevention, or compliance.

12. International Processing

LucusAI is operated from India and is available internationally.

Your information may be processed by LucusAI and its service providers in India or other countries where those providers operate.

Where applicable, we will take steps required by applicable law concerning international transfers and processing of personal information.

13. Legal Requests and Safety

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

comply with applicable law;
respond to valid legal process;
protect the rights, safety, or property of LucusAI, users, or others;
investigate fraud or abuse;
enforce our Terms of Service; or
address security incidents.

We do not sell personal information.

14. Business Changes

If LucusAI is transferred, reorganized, sold, or otherwise undergoes a business transaction, information associated with the Service may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate privacy protections.

If LucusAI permanently shuts down, the website and Service will be discontinued and we intend to delete stored user data, subject to any information that must legally be retained.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our Service, data practices, or applicable legal requirements change.

The updated policy will be posted on the LucusAI website with a revised effective date.

Your continued use of LucusAI after the revised policy becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
